Requirements to be a planter with Trees That Count

We hold our planters and their projects to a high standard. Here are some of the criteria to be accepted as a planter with Trees That Count.

Updated over a week ago

We support projects that create permanent native forests that enhance biodiversity and community well-being.

To be eligible to receive trees through Trees That Count, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Your project must focus on permanent native forests and not be for landscaping or private gardens.

  • We are looking for projects to a scale of at least 10,000 trees planted over the life of the project.

  • The minimum request is for 500 trees to be planted in a single planting season.

  • You and/or your team should have a proven track record of planting and caring for at least 500 native trees.

  • A detailed planting plan to prepare, plant and maintain the trees is required as part of your tree request to ensure eligibility.

  • Funding is provided directly to nurseries, not as cash. Community nurseries have the option to invoice us for the trees.

  • First-time applicants may receive funding for up to half of their annual planting plans.

  • Trees must be endemic to the planting area and eco-sourced to ensure they thrive in their natural habitat.

  • Funded projects are required to provide monitoring data to ensure the proper care of the trees.

We're always excited to welcome new projects that meet these standards and contribute to our mission.

If your project aligns with our requirements, we encourage you to submit a request for trees and join us in making a lasting impact.
