The planter dashboard is your central hub for managing your tree planting projects and monitoring requirements. This guide will help you navigate the system to confirm plantings and submit the required monitoring data to maintain compliance with Trees That Count funding requirements.
The dashboard shows the current status of all your Tree Requests (any unsuccessful requests are automatically archived at the end of each year but can be viewed by checking the "Show Archived" box).
After approval, your Tree Request will move through the following stages:
Confirm planting
For each Tree Request you can add one or more reports. You should add one report for each contiguous area that you're planting this year.
If you are planting a site in stages across the course of a year then you can create a draft planting report to add to it throughout the season, and then submit the report once you've finished planting.
As you confirm your plantings you will see the percentage of trees planted will increase. Reports only contribute to this percentage once they have been submitted. Once you've confirmed that you've planted 100% of the trees from the Tree Request, then the planting stage is complete.
Year One Monitoring
Once you've planted your trees, the next stage is to monitor their progress.
In the year following the planting you will be prompted on your dashboard to add year one monitoring. To do this, just click on the tree request, and then you will be able to add monitoring for each planting area that you reported.
As you report the survival rates for each planting area you will see your progress towards monitoring all of the trees that were included in the Tree Request.
Once you've reported on each planting area then your year one monitoring is complete. You will still have the option to add more monitoring. Each area needs to be monitored at least once per year for the first three years, but you can monitor more frequently if you like.
Year Two Monitoring
In the second year after planting you will be prompted on your dashboard to add year two monitoring, which follows the same process as for year one.
Year Three Monitoring
In the second year after planting, you will be prompted on your dashboard to add year three monitoring, which follows the same process as for the previous years.
Once you complete year three monitoring then your reporting commitments for the Tree request are completed. You can still continue to add monitoring data though - more is always better!
Timelines
Each reporting step has a deadline which is clearly displayed in the Tree Request table. If no action is required at this stage then no date will be displayed.
If reporting is not done by the deadline then it becomes overdue and the date will appear as red on your dashboard. In this case we request that you complete the reporting as soon as you can. All reporting must be up to date in order to submit future Tree Requests.
Troubleshooting
If you are having difficulties reporting on your trees first make sure you have completed all the prerequisite steps.
You cannot start adding monitoring until you have confirmed all your trees as being planted. Likewise you cannot begin to add year two monitoring until you have finished adding year one monitoring for all of your planting.
If you are still having difficulties then please get in contact with our team via the support bubble on the dashboard, or by emailing [email protected] and we will be happy to help.
